Phyllis B. Scott's Obituary
Mrs. Phyllis Barbara Scott, age 75, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, November 21, 2006. She was born December 8, 1930, to Joseph L. and Josephine (Bukowski) Bernatche in Manistee, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1950. She attended and graduated from Manistee High School, had worked for GTE for 15 years before retiring in 1990, and previously worked for Shur-fine (Viking) Foods. She was a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church, and was a former member of St. Jean’s Catholic Church. She was a volunteer for Mercy Hospital, and the Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts. She also enjoyed playing bridge, golf, gardening, and was a member of the Danish Sisterhood. On July 24, 1950, she married Elmer Olson in Manistee. Elmer passed away on March 17, 1975. On November 28, 1983, she married Laverne Scott who preceded her in death on November 23, 1993. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Paul E. Olson of Grand Rapids, Michelle (Eric) Rudert of White Cloud, Terri L. (Curtis) Klaver of Dorr, MI; 8 grandchildren, Amber and Gavin Klaver, Tessa, Ryan, and Jena Olson, Jim, Joe, and Mike Rozycki; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Donald Bernatche of Bangor, ME; 1 sister, Audrey (Robert) Jacobs of Manistee; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jerome and Robert Bernatche; 1 sister, Dolores Akershoek. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church, Marian Chapel, with the Rev. Fr. Thomas G. Simons presiding.
