Raymond Albert Lemke, age 82, of Grand Haven passed away on Friday, December 22, 2006 at a local care facility. He was born October 31, 1924 to Gustav and Adeline (Petzold) Lemke in Grand Haven and married Loretta Pellegrom on Jun Read Obituary

I will always be thankful that my Dad had such an ideal "roommate" in Ray at the care center. Dad was touched to hear of Ray's passing. "Gosh", he said, shaking his head.
As for me, I'm always willing to surrender the "green chair" to a member of the Lemke family.

Dear Family,
Even though I have never had the honor of meeting anyone of you in this family,
I am writing to you at this time to send my condolences. Having lost a loved one myself, still I can only imagine your grief that you are feeling during this sad occasion. During these times it is so comforting to know that according to the Bible we will be able to see our loved ones again.
The faithful man Job poses the question at Job 14:14 "If an able body man dies can he live again? All the days of my compulsory service I shall wait, until my relief comes. You will call and I myself shall answer you. For the work of your hands you will have a yearning."
The Bible helps us to appreciate when Jesus was on earth he resurrected dead loved ones. That was a preview of what he would do on a larger scale when his Kingdom takes over rulership over the earth.
Here in the book of John 11:38-44 is an example of Jesus resurrecting Lazarus and how his sisters were happy on receiving him back to life again. In God's due time we will be able to be united with our loved ones again.
We know that this is going to happen because the God of the
Bible has promise it and He cannot lie. (Titus 1:2) I hope you find comfort from this email along with the scriptures from the Bible.

Mrs. Lemke, I got home from Christmas with our daughter to find that Mr. Lemke had passed away. I want to extend to you and the family my sympathy. I know it is hard having lost mom on the 10 of Dec. Maybe sometime we could get together for a snack. I would love to treat you. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Dear Aunt Loretta, my cousins and family:
I want you to know that I am thinking of each of you as you mourn the loss of your husband, dad and grandpa.
Uncle Ray was a very special person. I know I shared some of my memories with him/you back in October.
I just want to reiterate how much Uncle Ray meant to me. He was a role model that we never had. He was there for us whenever we needed him.
Uncle Ray along with Aunt Loretta keep us close and kept us all together as a family. We had many times of need as we were growing up and you both were there to help us through the tough times and also to enjoy the good times.
Christmas Eve will never be forgotten. Coast Guard parades will nver be the same.
I could go on and on, but for now I will close.
I know that Uncle Ray is in heaven with the many other people we have loves and lost.
Know that they will be there to greet us when it is our time to go home.

You are in my thoughts and prayers at the passing of a much loved husband, father and a very special grandpa. I will always remember the family Christmas dinners we shared at the Bil Mar.
