I had known Roy & Sheila as very good neighbors for years. Roy & I checked in with each other during the lockdown & became better acquainted. He was a kind & caring person who always kept his sense of humor. He enjoyed baseball & excelled at playing the game! I will miss him.

Roy was a wonderful person and we are so thankful that we got to know him and Sheila. Roy made sure to let us know that Max Scherzer was a pitching gem when the Nationals acquired him from his beloved Tigers.
It was a joy to share many happy events with Roy.

Your Dad will always have a special place in my heart, as well as yours for sure. One memory stands out for Mike and I. My mom had called to ask me if we would help your mom and dad clean out their cousin Doug’s house down in Detroit. Your dad had a dumpster delivered and so we drove down and cleared that house out in one day. It was a huge job… Your dad had a great time standing on the front porch talking to all the people who came by. When Mike and your mom picked up the couch, I noticed that a bag fell out from underneath. We realized that it was a bag of money. Your mom went around and closed all the curtains so that no one could see us. There were crisp $100 bills all stacked in pile. Your mom and dad said, one for you and one for us until the pile was gone;)
We are saddened that we won’t be able to attend Roy’s memorial but know that we will be thinking of all of you. Sally and Mike
Roy and Sheila were such an amazing couple who helped shape the outstanding legacy of excellence of the Mona Shores School System. I will always remember Roy’s ready smile and quick wit as well as his willingness to listen to his staff members. Condolences to Jill, Kurt, and their families—you were fortunate to have such a great father and grandfather!
Roy your legacy will live on! You gave to much to the kids at Campbell. The Mona Shores Schools was a better place because of you. Rest In Peace
I was always proud to call Roy a friend and a confidant. I still look at the picture from his retirement and wonder how in the world did they ever convince me to wear a coconut bra and hula skirt. May God embrace you in his loving arms. Thoughts and prayers to Jill and family.
