Growing up in Robinson meant you saw a Chaffee or a Pelton as far as the eye could see in our corner of the world. We go back a few generations and there was always a Pelton in our life. Archie was very special. A gentle man who could bring me to tears with teasing but I got him back many times later on when he didn't scare me so much anymore. When I think about the definition of the word "hospitality", my mind always goes to Celia and Archie Pelton! When my husband, Don, was still active-duty in the USAF, a trip home to Michigan always included a visit with the Peltons. There was coffee and a treat and most times a rousing game of Yahtzee and then a game of Cribbage between Archie and Don, while Celia and I could relax and enjoy one anothers company!! Almost everyone knew my dad as a joker and a tease; but to me he was always encouraging me to reach higher; to try new things; to learn more; and made me feel like he had confidence in me like no other person ever did.
