My sincere sympathy to you and your family. We were classmates and I remember Glen well. May God hold you close to Him
Glen was a classmate of mine at Grand Haven High School class of 1958. He was a quiet and lovely person. He will be greatly missed at our annual reunions.

I did not know him personally. Nor did I even know his name. I do know that when I was out and about around Fruitport, I would pass this gentle looking man. He ALWAYS had a smile on his face and always waved. I did not know him but I sure will miss him!
I've known Glenn for twenty five years and can say I've never seen him not smiling. Every Friday when I worked at the bank, he and his friends came in to cash their checks. Glenn always had a joke and we looked forward to them. We even started looking up jokes so we would have one to reply.
After I started teaching at the school, he would wave every time I passed him coming into work in the morning he would smile and wave or chat if I was getting in or out of my car. When he and Carol were in Meijer, we always stopped and chatted. Again, he was always smiling.
As a crossing guard people started thinking he was just waving because he waved at everyone but truly he pretty much knew everyone. He didn't have to know you personally. He remembered your face from just one meeting and gave you a wave of acknowledgement. "You're in Fruitport" his wave would say, "And that's how we do things here. We welcome everyone."
Our town will not be the same without Glenn.
Prayers for Carol and Cindy as you traverse the grieving that one can only bear with God's help. Know that we are all asking for God's strong arms to hold you through this difficult time.
While I didn't actually know Glen, I did see him almost daily, at least once or sometimes more, either at his crossing guard corner or on one of his many walks around the village. Each time he would wave and smile, I would wave back and smile and my day would be brighter. My thoughts and prayers to his family at this sad time. Please treasure the thought that this wonderful man brightened the day of so many "strangers" who are feeling the sad loss of our "friend". He obviously was a caring, warm, friendly gentleman. May he rest in peace in the arms of the angels.

Our condolences to your family. A very kind and helpful neighbor. You will be missed.
Sincerely,

It has been special knowing you and Carol for all these years. Two kinder and more considerate people I have yet to meet. How sad to know that I will never see that friendly smile, your wave or hear your voice again in this world. You will be missed this summer when you would ride your bike to our house to deliver your produce, fresh from your garden. You will be missed at our annual Crossing Guard meeting where there will be an empty seat next to me. But most of all, you will be missed as my friend and partner at the corner of 6th and Pontaluna. You cannot be replaced. I lost a good friend on March the 7th----- and it broke my heart. To Carol and your family, my deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with you always. Keeping you in my heart---Kathy Briggs
I was Glenn's hairdresser and friend for the past 15 years, i'm going to miss his smile his laughter his advice his stories, jokes and all the treats he would bring me from his garden. Wednesday morning it was very hard to drive up to the school and see a police officer doing his job, it broke my heart to know I won't be seeing him again. I probably seen him five days out of seven walking all around Fruitport with a big smile and a wave. I will miss you my friend!!❤️ Heidi
