I am sorry to hear of this great loss. My Mom was so happy and terrific as a volunteer at the Red Cross for years as a Grey Lady, that they made her the Director after she help start the Blood Bank there. It was the first one west of New York City after WWII was over. Other women in Muskegon felt the same way about this institution that worked for all. I helped by carrying blood when I was 12 and later, on the night calls to save someone who needed a transfusion at Hackley or Mercy. These women worked selflessly for everyone, usually without pay. Those were the kinds of people at the Red Cross that I saw there. My Mom's blood type was O+, the universal donor. Guess how I still know that from 60 years ago? I should think the newer nurses my age, like Marcia Jelier, are also to be forever blessed. David A. Carlson.
I am very sorry for your great loss. Marcia was the type of nurse who inspired confidence in those working with her. I worked with her at Mercy Hospital as well as the Red Cross. Praying for you. Linda Doctor
So sorry to hear about Marcia. We worked together at Red Cross and were part of an RC group that met for lunch until a few years ago. We all shared many fond and fun memories. Bill and family my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
