Aunt Nan'c and I always had a special connection and I became even closer to her especially after Grandma and my Mom died. I called her frequently and whenever I had a complaint about life's injustices, she was always on my side! She was like a Grandma to my two sons and it just won't be the same without her in our lives. We had some great times together - trips up to the U.P., camping, garage sale-ing, hanging out at our house, getting up early the day after Christmas to get those great deals, etc. She was the first person my boys wanted to call when they had a milestone in their lives - tooth pulled, first basket of the season (or only one!),Star Wars Lego stories, or even seemingly mundane things involving George the stuffed monkey which she would listen to with peaked interest. I remember all of the stories she told and how I had heard them "a hundred times before" and now they are no longer. They will live on within each one of us as she had made an indelible mark on our lives.
When my Aunt was in the hospital in Sept of 2010, I spent the week down in Muskegon. It was then that my eyes were opened to the amazing friends she had and the life that few of the family were privy to. We knew the names and about them but it was amazing to see the connection. I can only say that to have friendshipS last a span of fifty years tells a lot about a person. And what a person she was.
I will miss you Aunt Nan'c more than you know. Love always - Amy##imported-begin##Amy Awrey##imported-end##
