Abbie L. Smith's Obituary
Mrs. Abbie L. Smith, age 87, passed away Saturday morning, July 22, 2006 in Grand Haven. She was born July 7, 1919 to Willard A. and Jennie M. (Flanders) Whitney in Manitoba, Canada, and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. Abbie had worked as a Realtor, was a member of the Poetry Society of Michigan, and had been active with the Senior Citizen’s Bowling League. She was a long-time member of Lakeside United Methodist Church. On December 18, 1937 she married Ferrell Smith. SURVIVORS include her husband Ferrell; 1 daughter, Theryn “Terri” (Gary) Hart of Zephyrhills, FL; 4 grandchildren, Brian (Faith) Falkowski, Cami (Craig) Plattner, Kelly (Roger) Cook, Casey Rundquist; several great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Edith Cooper. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila McClurg in 1999, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. At Abbie’s request, a private graveside service will be held.
