SSG Adam William Sines' Obituary
Staff Sergeant Adam William Sines, age 33, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014 in Columbia, SC. He was born December 6, 1980 in Muskegon and attended Mona Shores Junior High and graduated from Whitehall High School, Class of 2000. Adam enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 14, 2001. During his 13 years of service, he served 2 tours of duty in Afghanistan and 2 tours in Iraq. Among the many awards and decorations, he had 6 Army Commendation Medals, 4 Afghanistan Campaign Medals, 4 Iraq Campaign Medals with a Campaign Star, 3 Global War on Terrorism Medals, 1 Meritorious Service Medal, and 1 Combat Infantry Badge. Adam took great pride in his military service to his country and shared unparalleled comradery with his Army brothers. His smile was contagious and his witty and fun personality could instantly brighten the day. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hiking. He also loved to travel, work on vehicles and, above all else, spend time with his family and dogs. On March 27, 2008, he married the former Alicia (Ali) Renee Long. She survives him along with two children, Logan Adam Sines (9) and Sawyer Payten Sines (5); his parents, Linda and Steve Skodack, Sr.; three brothers, Derek (Julie) Sines, Rick (Julie) Skodack and Steve (Nicole) Skodack, Jr.; his grandparents, Pat and Rich Blanchette. The FUNERAL SERVICE with Military Honors will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
