Adeline "Peg" M. Bonthuis' Obituary
Mrs. Adeline “Peg” M. Bonthuis, age 92, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022 in Ravenna, MI. She was born on March 13, 1930 in Muskegon to Ivan and Alma (Ruud) Cole. Peg was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Ravenna, and loved her church family very much. She was well known for her baking skills including her wonderful cookies and apple pie. On September 22, 1951, she married Donald Bonthuis and enjoyed 66 years of marriage together. Don preceded Peg in death on July 19, 2017. SURVIVORS include her daughter, Ellen (Greg) Slater of Casnovia; three grandchildren, Matt (Meredith) Slater, Ambre Slater and Stephanie (Dillon) Raymond; six great-grandchildren, Audrey, Anna, Parker, Jaidah, Gavin and Isaac. Peg was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Bombardier. The Funeral Service will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Ravenna with Fr. Andrew Ayers presiding. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 11:00-12:00 PM. Burial will take place in St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Peg’s name may be made to her beloved church St. Catherine’s Catholic Church or the Tibbet House Elder Care would be appreciated.
