Agapito "Pete" Perez's Obituary
Agapito “Pete” Perez, age 63, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021. He was born August 15, 1957 in Muskegon to Manuel and Gloria (Sanchez) Perez. Pete worked nearly 20 years at Kurdziel Iron Industries before retiring. On May 28, 1982, he married Margaret “Peggy” Parrish in Muskegon. Pete was currently a member of Christ Church in North Muskegon where he served as a greeter. He was formerly very active at Central Assembly of God for many years. Pete was a tender-hearted man and especially enjoyed cooking for others. When he was a young adult, he worked at The Black Angus Restaurant where he once cooked a steak for Johnny Cash during a visit to Muskegon in 1973. Pete was also a proud fan of the Saints and was active with the “Who Dat Nation” on social media. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy Perez; 3 children, Amanda (Joe) Puls, Paul (Devin) Perez, Amy (James) Budde; and 10 grandchildren, Jacob, Machiah, Zachary, Jarrett, Jozlyn, Elijah, Matice, Coralynn, Parker, and Piper. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Central Assembly of God Church, 896 Home St., Muskegon, MI 49442. Face Coverings are required and Social Distancing will be followed. The service will be streamed live on the Church Facebook Page (“Central Assembly of God – Muskegon”) and the Church YouTube Channel (“Central Assembly – Muskegon”). Limited Visitation with 25 people per time will be held 4-7PM Tuesday at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442. Visitation will also be available one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Mercy Health Heart Center in Muskegon.
