Agatha "Gay" Sieplinga's Obituary
Mrs. Agatha “Gay” Sieplinga, age 88, went home to her Lord and Savior Tuesday morning, October 5, 2010. Gay was born January 29, 1922 in Muskegon to Claude and Catherine (Kuiper) Wolffis. On September 4, 1947 she married John Dobben Sieplinga at the Fifth Reformed Church in Muskegon. Dob preceded her in death on November 20, 2009. Gay was a long time member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church where she had been active throughout the years in Ladies Fellowship, Telecare, choir and the Circle of Grace. She volunteered for 25 years at Hackley Hospital both in the coffee shop and in surgery waiting. Gay was also involved in the YFCA Aqua-trim program and other Y activities throughout the years. Gay’s life and love centered around her faith and her family. She is SURVIVED by her children, David Sieplinga of Muskegon, Douglas (Donna) Sieplinga of Grand Rapids, Darlene (Tom) Neidlinger of Marshall, Daryl (Marie) Sieplinga of Caledonia and Dawn (Don Penniman) Sieplinga of Grand Rapids; 16 grandchildren, Bree (David Luke) Sieplinga, Drew Sieplinga, Kira (Harland) Holman, Andrew (Jessica King) Neidlinger, Jenna (Greig) Hess, Kari (Matthew) Dykhouse, Catherine Neidlinger, Joel (Renee) Sieplinga, Pujita Sieplinga, Kelli Sieplinga, Elizabeth Neidlinger, Anton (Jennifer) Sieplinga, Anjali (Matt Perrin) Sieplinga, Zack Penniman, Marc Neidlinger and Ana Penniman; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jean Wolffis of Muskegon and Doris Wolffis of Arizona; brother-in-law, Howard (Leah) Sieplinga; and many nieces and nephews. Gay was preceded in death by her brothers, Dick and Lowell Wolffis, and an infant sister. A CELEBRATION OF GAY’S LIFE will be 1:00 PM Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 1105 Terrace St, with Rev. Marvin Beelen officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Friday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 1-231-726-5210 and one hour (Noon until 1 PM) at the church.
