Agnes M. Tallent's Obituary
Mrs. Agnes “Aggie” M. Tallent, age 96, formerly of Lansing, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024 in North Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Lansing, Michigan on September 27, 1927 to Carl and Maria (Wendt) Schaible. Agnes was employed by Oldsmobile Corporation for 21 years prior to her retirement in 1985. She was a member of First Lutheran Church since moving to Muskegon in 2017 and she greatly cherished her new Church family and the relationships and friends she made there. Aggie was always the life of the party and was up for any adventure, or get together, with friends or family. She played the piano and organ, and often played at her church in Lansing. Aggie also loved all types of food, but as her family can attest, she was not a master in the kitchen. However, she always enjoyed food made by others or at a restaurant. She often commented she didn't know how her son and grandchildren became such good cooks "It sure wasn't from me". Aggie had a great love for all animals, especially her treasured German Shepards, of which she had many over the years as well as other dogs and cats. Aggie was active on social media until days before her death, always interested in what her friends and family were up to and how they were doing. On December 27, 1971, Agnes married Wallace Tallent in Tennessee and he preceded her in death in 2023. Agnes is survived by her son, Ronald (Tresha) Kidder; stepson, Wallace (Suzanne) Tallent; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Donna Schaible; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace; her parents, Carl and Maria Schaible; and brother, Robert Schaible. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 17, 2024 at First Lutheran Church (1206 Whitehall Rd, Muskegon, MI 49445) with Rev. Bill Uetricht officiating. You may sign her online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com Arrangements by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
