Alaina E. Sustaita's Obituary
Alaina E. Sustaita, age 44, passed away at home on Sunday, September 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after courageously battling cancer. She was born on September 29, 1979, to Russell and Marilyn (Policka) Sustaita in Colorado Springs, CO. Early on, her family made their way back to Muskegon, MI which she has since called home. Alaina graduated from Mona Shores High School class of 1998. She was a dedicated employee of Best Buy for 20+ years holding various management positions in Muskegon, Grand Rapids, and Holland. She loved gardening, wine-tasting, crafting, swimming, traveling and sharing those experiences with her family. Her home was filled with crystals, mermaids, unicorns, elephants and pictures of her twin sons. Everyone who met her would recognize her confidence, kindness, generosity and beauty. Her playful sense of humor was only overshadowed by her one-of-a-kind laugh. She will always be remembered as a wonderful daughter, loving mom, amazing sister, strong leader and dear friend to many. Alaina will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure to know her. She is survived by her parents, Russell (Marilyn) Sustaita; twin boys, Ruben (Carol Jean Whitman) Sustaita and Roman (Gabrielle) Cree-Sustaita; sister, Annessa Sustaita; three brothers, Brent (Laura) Sustaita, Landon (Julie) Sustaita and Bron Sustaita; nephews, Lorenzo Sustaita, Brandon Sustaita and Cole Rust; nieces, Breanna Young and Lauren Rust; and great-niece, Rylee Rust; and many dear friends. Memorial contributions can be directed to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4-6:00 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services in the family center, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Share memories with the family at http://www.sytsemafh.com.
