Mr. Alan George Baker's Obituary
Mr. Alan George Baker, age 79, passed away Friday morning, October 5, 2012. Alan was born August 4, 1933, In Ludington, MI, to George and Dicie (Bradford) Baker. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Wright receiving the National Defense Service Medal. On June 22, 1979, Alan married the former Janice (Bultema) Tracy in Muskegon, and she survives him. Alan had worked for Kysor (Borg-Warner) Industries for 15 years prior to retiring in 1998. He had previously worked for S.D. Warren and Cannon Muskegon. Alan enjoyed repairing and painting cars, watching NASCAR races, and spending time with his family. He always kept an immaculately maintained yard. Al will be deeply missed by his family and friends. In addition to his wife of 33 years, Janice; Al is survived by his son, Jeffrey Baker of Muskegon; daughter, Brenda Avery of Muskegon; step-daughter, Kym(John) Cassidy of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Derek (Jennifer) Baker, Cody Avery, Zachary and Hope Cassidy; sister, Joella (Calvin) Bean of Texas; several nieces and nephews. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100
with Rev Craig Apel officiating and military rites afforded. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service (2-3pm). MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Harbor Hospice. Interment will be in Walkerville Cemetery.
