Alan G. Greene's Obituary
Alan Gene Greene, age 67, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, in Grand Rapids, MI. Alan was born in Muskegon, MI, on September 20, 1956, to Rex and Mary (Judd) Greene. Alan graduated from Muskegon High School in 1976, and then went on to take some classes at Baker College and Muskegon Community College. Alan was a lifelong Muskegon resident and greatly enjoyed spending time at Muskegon-based events, such as Parties in the Park, Taste of Muskegon, Irish Fest, Unity Fest, and Bike Time. He also enjoyed volunteering at many of those events. Alan was a talented photographer; he had two photos on display at Mary Free Bed and one at the Muskegon Museum of Art. He was very patriotic and loved his country, and he greatly enjoyed Detroit Tigers Baseball, especially Miguel Cabrera. Alan was born with Cerebral Palsy and had many challenges in his life, but he never let his disability hold him back. He was very generous and would help anyone who needed it, and he always kept others in his thoughts and prayers.
Alan loved his family very much, and he will be lovingly remembered by his fiancée, Monica Morey; three half siblings: Patty Butler, Stan (Jolynn) Greene, and Carla (Paul) Caldwell; stepsister, Sharon Williams; brother in-law, Leroy Wentzloff; uncle, Bob (Berniece) Judd; aunt, Mae Konya; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Rex Greene and Mary Mahoney; stepfather, Charles Mahoney; half-siblings, Luann Wentzloff and Chuck Mahoney; nephew, Aaron Butler; and his beloved grandparents and various aunts and uncles.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be taking place for Alan at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Bethany CRC, 1105 Terrace St, Muskegon, MI 49442, with VISITATION taking place from 9:30-10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to Bethany CRC. Alan will be buried next to his mother at Norton Cemetery.
