Albert W. "Bill" Bredin's Obituary
Albert W. “Bill” Bredin, age 88, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at Mercy Hospital. He was born August 10, 1932 in Muskegon to Howard and Marie (VanMaastricht) Bredin and was a lifelong member of the area. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On April 23, 1955, he married Joyce E. Feuerborn in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on February 24, 2010. Bill was a proud 70-year member of Carpenter’s Union Local #100 where he was employed until his retirement in 1995. He was a life member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He was part of the construction team that built the church in 1964-1968. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #706 and the Lakeside American Legion. He loved to play a good game of bridge. Survivors include his 4 children, Michael William (Julie) Bredin, David William (Jayne) Bredin, Cinda M. Cogswell, Randal William (Lena) Bredin; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Dr. Robert Bredin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce E. Bredin; son and his wife, Gregory W. & Monica Bredin; son-in-law, Lloyd Cogswell; and daughter-in-law, Martha Bredin. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday, September 25, 2021 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken Street, with the Rev. Msgr. R. Louise Stasker presiding. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Boys Town (www.boystown.org) or the God’s Kitchen Food Program through Catholic Charities West Michigan (www.ccwestmi.org).
