Albert W. Stroud's Obituary
Albert Wayne Stroud, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, surrounded, and embraced by loved ones. He was born on May 1, 1937 to Benjamin and Alta (Shull) Stroud in Muskegon, MI. Albert was a veteran of the United States Army. After his time in the service, Albert returned to Muskegon and became a machine operator at Sealed Power. He worked there for 30 years until his retirement in 1989. On April 17, 1964, he married the love of his life Marva Jean McRoberts, they spent 52 incredible years together until her passing in September of 2016. Selfless and full of love to give, Al and Marva adopted their only daughter Shannon, their pride and joy. Albert was an active member of First Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed traveling, was once an avid golfer, enjoyed weekly Western movies with his buddy Bill, and he took great pride in his Family, especially his Great Grandchildren. He Loved them with all his heart. He was a man of mild manner. Quiet, yet present, with a smile that was liable to brighten your day and melt your heart. Heaven gained a beautiful soul. Albert is survived by his daughter, Shannon (Chris) Brannam; grandchildren, Ryan Brannam, Kaylee (Joe) Tokarczyk; great-grandchildren, Adyn, Brysten, Phoenix, Teagan, Maura; brothers, Roger (Mary) Stroud, Benjamin (Lorna) Stroud; sisters, Jane (Bob) Alderson; brothers-in-law, Dr. Philip McRoberts, Tom Spencer; sister in-law Betty Stroud. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marva; brother, Donald Stroud; and sister, Diana Spencer. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at First Wesleyan Church (1040 E. Forest Ave.) at 12:00 PM, with VISITATION taking place one hour prior to the service at church .
