Alberta E. "Bert" Hall's Obituary
Alberta E. “Bert” Hall, age 93, passed away early Thursday, July 29 ,2021. She was born on April 26, 1928 to Alex and Evelyn (Jenkins) Kooi in Muskegon, MI. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Hall on May 8, 1948 at their home in Muskegon, MI. Together they cherished 43 years of marriage full of love and laughter. She was a proud mother and took joy in raising her family over the years. Bert was an avid reader and truly enjoyed mystery novels by Ellery Queen or western novels by Louie L’amore or Zane Gray. In her spare time, she liked working on word searches as well. Above all things, she loved her family and her friends dearly. She was fun-loving and friendly spirit that was truly loved by many. Bert will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her 5 children, Sandra Hall of Nunica, MI, Kenneth (Fawn) Hall of Ocklawaha, FL, Victoria (Paul) Parker of Muskegon, MI, David (Mary) Hall of Gulf Port, MS, and Monica (Scott) DePung of Hermitage, TN; numerous, grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Thomas (Rosie) Kooi and James (Ora-Lee) Kooi; 2 sisters, Kathleen Miller and Annamay Holub; many nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Gerald Hall. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hall; parents, Alex (Evelyn) Kooi; and sister, Sally Cooley. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the Bethel Baptist Church, 1066 Byron Rd., Norton Shores, MI 49441. A visitation with the family will be held from 2-4:00 PM and 6-8:00 PM on Monday, August 2, 2021 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441. Memorial Contributions in Alberta’s honor can be made directly to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
