Albert A. Workman's Obituary
Mr. Albert A. Workman, age 93, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2007 at his home. He was born June 21, 1914 in Muskegon to Abe and Margaret (Groenik) Workman and lived his entire life in the area. He worked over 43 years as a cabinet maker for E.H. Sheldon and retired in 1976. On October 6, 1939, he married the former Bertha Fielstra and she survives him. He was a former member of First Christian Reformed Church and was a current member of Fifth Reformed Church. He was active with the Muskegon Rescue Mission Men’s Auxiliary, the Christian Care Senior Care, the WMCHS Board and had served as an elder for Sullivan Christian Reformed Church and East Muskegon Christian Reformed Church. Along with his wife of 68 years, Bertha, he is also SURVIVED by his daughter, RuthAnn (Edward) Sterenberg of Muskegon; 2 grandchildren, Debby (Pratt) Lambert and Donald W. (Nancy) Pratt, III; 1 brother, Thomas J. Workman of St. Simons Island, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, his twin-brother, Bob Workman, and C. Niel Workman, 1 sister, Margaret Cleveringa. Special thanks to Al’s caregivers that gave him excellent loving care, Anna Vanwyck and Maggie Hogendyk. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Fifth Reformed Church with Rev. Norman Swier officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
