We live in Creekview Condos and had the privilege of knowing Bert for the 11 years we have been here. She was always so friendly and open with us. We felt very welcomed by her. We appreciated her candor and willingness to speak her mind. John served with her on the condo board during some of the many years she volunteereed on the board, frequently as president. Just a few months ago, I spoke of your mother. I was having a conversation with a friend about our mutual love of birds and bird watching. My friend, who is a retired teacher, asked me who got me started watching birds. And instantly I could remember. I said, "Mrs. Studier in the fourth grade at Roosevelt School!" She taught a whole section on birds and we had to draw pictures of many of them and she posted my blue jay on her bulletin board. That was...hmmm...1960's! Having gone through a similar situation with my own Mom, I can understand your feelings of shock and disbelief at her sudden passing.
