Albert G. Bjornstrom's Obituary
Mr. Albert G. Bjornstrom, age 88, passed away, Friday, November 6, 2009 at his residence, the Christian Care Home following a long illness. Albert was born in Muskegon on March 13, 1921 the third of five children to Gustav and Sara (Halgren) Bjornstrom. Albert was a graduate of Muskegon Hts. H.S. and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was employed at Bennett Pump Co for over 25 years, retiring in 1980. Albert was a former scout leader and was an active member and past president of both the Muskegon Evening Optimist and S.M.E. group. He was a member at Temple United Methodist Church and was a former member of Central Lutheran Church. He married the former Agnes Wood in 1947 and she preceded him in death in 1969. He then married the former Rayora (Yorkson) Utzinger in Muskegon on December 21, 1972 and she survives him along with: two children, Dan (Ellen) Bjornstrom of Oldsmar, FL and Debra (Joseph) Kolanowski of Muskegon; three step-sons, John (Rita) Utzinger of Virginia, Roger (Maureen) Utzinger of Texas and David (Louanne) Utzinger of N. Muskegon; brother-in-law, Art Newhoff; sister-in-laws, Frances and Betty Bjornstrom; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at: The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 12, 2009, Rev. Rob Cook officiating. Visitation: Wednesday, 3-6 P.M. He will be laid to rest in Mona View Cemetery. Memorial: Temple United Methodist Church.
