Albert J. Schmidt's Obituary
Mr. Albert J. Schmidt, age 87, of Spring Lake passed away at Heartwood Lodge on Sunday, August 29, 2010. He was born April 13, 1923 to Jacob and Josephine (Verba) Schmidt. He graduated from The University of Michigan with an Engineering degree. He received his Master’s Degree from the University of Notre Dame. He worked for American Porcelain Enamel Company for over 50 years.
He Married Elsa M. Mauser on June 20, 1953 in Chicago and they were married for 57 years. Moving to Spring Lake in 1990, he was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Elsa; a son, Gordon (Maria) Schmidt of Canton, Ohio; a daughter, Annette (Greg) Bos of Rockford; 2 grandchildren, Katie Schmidt and Patrick Bos.
Services for Albert will take place 11:00 AM Thursday, September 2, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Daniel DePew presiding. Visitation with the family will take place 6-8 PM Wednesday at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake. Interment will be in Spring Lake Township Cemetery.
