Alberto "Bert" Guerrero's Obituary
Mr. Alberto “Bert” Guerrero, age 81, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023 in Muskegon. He was born in Muskegon on September 27, 1942 to Antonio and Isabelle (Cervera) Guerrero. On August 26, 1961, Bert married the former Maria E. Fraga at Our Lady of Grace Church in Muskegon and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Bert was employed by American Coil Spring prior to his retirement in 1986. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace and St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church where he served as an usher and sacristan. Bert was a lifetime member of the Latin American Club and Knights of Columbus #706. He was an Elvis fanatic and enjoyed researching and collecting movie star memorabilia, including a collection of famous obituaries. Bert enjoyed music and art, especially painting and acrylics. He was a University of Michigan fan and was patriotic. Most importantly, Bert will be remembered as a wonderful and kind man that was always a positive source of encouragement to his family. Bert is survived by his wife, Maria; children, Toni (Paul Emick) Garcia, Michael Guerrero Sr., Rebecca Harpe; 16 grandchildren, Ryan (Brandi) Emick, Jeanette Emick, Paul Robert Emick, Mario (Amy) Garcia, Victoria Garcia, Diana Garcia, Lupe Garcia, Jeremy Garcia, Patricia Garcia, Alexandria Guerrero, Michelle Guererro, Alberto Guerrero, Michael Guerrero Jr., Joshua (Faith) Guerrero, Dylan Harpe, and Jazmin (Joshua Burling) Harpe; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Ron) Balentine, Linda (David) Lopez, Virginia (Mark) Hamilton, Angie (Terry) Schrebe, and Carmen Sebring; sisters-in-law, Gail Guerrero and Marie Guerrero; many nieces, nephews, cousins, god-children; all of Maria’s loving family; and adopted daughter, Rosa Pacheco and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Jeffrey Harpe; granddaughter, Melissa Harrington; three brothers, Antonio Guerrero, Chuck Guerrero, and Tomas Guerrero; brother-in-law, Jim Sebring; and his adopted son, Jose Manuel Pacheco Sr. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 10:00 AM Friday, October 6, 2023 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. Kyle Kilpatrick presiding. VISITATION will be from 3-7 PM Thursday at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E.
