Alec V. Thompson's Obituary
Mr. Alec V. Thompson, age 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 following a long battle with illness. He was born on September 3, 1944 to Wallace and Martha (Voss) Thompson in Detroit, MI. Alec worked for the Muskegon School District for a number of years as head custodian before retiring. On November 13, 1982, Alec married the former Peggy Scheffler and she preceded him in death on July 16, 2009. Alec enjoyed spending a lot of his time outdoors, gardening, camping, and fishing. He hosted several fish fries for his friends and family from his many fishing trips. When not outside he could usually be found watching one of his beloved Westerns. He was a pet lover and had many dogs over the years. Alec also loved riding around Michigan on his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle. Alec and Peggy enjoyed family gatherings and the time spent with them. Alec will be missed by his children, Tina Thompson, Angel (Chris) Turgeon, and Alex Thompson; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Pat Osiecki and Chris (Gail) Thompson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Nellie Thompson; and siblings, Charlotte, Darlene “Billie”, Mike “Sonny”, Joe and George.
