Alfred H. Evans' Obituary
Mr. Alfred H. Evans, age 84, passed away peacefully, Wednesday May 2, 2007 at home. He was born in Muskegon on January 13, 1923 to Raymond and Adelaide (Kayler) Evans, and had resided in the area most of his life. Mr. Evans was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. He was a Policeman for Muskegon Twp. from 1949-1966, where he served as police chief for 4 years. Mr. Evans then worked 20 years at the BC Cobb Plant and retired in 1986. He was a member of Unity United Methodist Church. On June 1, 1946 he married the former Evelyn Carlson, and she survives him along with 6 children, Sandra (Daryl) Anderson of Stockbridge, MI, Charleen (Michael) Tucker and Leonard Evans both of Muskegon, Larry (Mihaela) Evans of Cour de Alene, Idaho, Scot (fiancée, Mary) Evans of Lowell, and Mark (Kathleen) Evans of Muskegon; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and “adopted son”, Kevin (Kathy) Marshall. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by 1 brother, Raymond Evans. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Saturday at Unity United Methodist Church (1660 N. Getty) with Rev. Nancy Besemer officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 10-11 AM. Burial will take place in Ashland Twp. Cemetery.
