Alice (Zylstra) Lawie's Obituary
Mrs. Alice (Zylstra) Lawie, age 86, passed away at Christian Care on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. She was born on December 29, 1921 to Charles and Grace (Dykstra) Fielstra in Muskegon. She was a member of Hope Reformed Church. Mrs. (Zylstra) Lawie was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Zylstra, in 1960 and Louis Lawie, in 1998. SURVIVORS include, 1 daughter, Linda (Gerald, deceased) Carlson; 3 sons, James (Gloria) Zylstra, Gary (Margie) Zylstra, Steven (Vicky) Zylstra; 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Elaine (Don) Fuller and Bernice DeRuiter; 2 brothers, Enoch “Bud” (Ivy) Fielstra, Charles (Leona) Fielstra and a very close cousin, Gerald Fielstra. She was also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Nella Brown, in 1994, Marilyn Jensen, in 1999 and son, Robert, in 2001. SERVICES will be 11 AM Friday at Hope Reformed Church with Rev. Steve Hyma officiating. VISITATION with the family will be Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 PM at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be directed to Hope Reformed Church, Hackley VNS Hospice and American Heart Association.
