Alice German's Obituary
Mrs. Alice (Hoekenga) German, age 95, died Sunday morning, July 3, 2005 in Muskegon. She was born July 25, 1909 in Grand Rapids, MI to Mick and Gerty (Hanover) Hoekenga and lived her life in the Muskegon area. On July 18, 1931, she married Lester E. German and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1986. She was a member of Temple United Methodist Church where she was active with the Keenagers Group and the Edith Park Circle. She also enjoyed sewing. SURVIVORS include 3 sons, Robert (Betty) German of Fruitport, Richard (Margie) German of Norton Shores, and Terry (Eileen) German of Muskegon; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 5 sisters. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at Temple United Methodist Church with Pastor Gerald F. Hagans officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be held 5-8 PM Tuesday at Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210.
