Alice Marie Grissom's Obituary
On July 22, 2025, Alice Marie Grissom departed this world to be with the Lord. Alice was born on October 5, 1939, in Muskegon, MI to Webster and Odessa Watson. She married Herbert H. Grissom Sr. on October 8, 1955. To this union they had two sons, Herbert H. (Marie) Grissom Jr., Michael L. (Kammi) Grissom and one daughter, Sheila (Aaron B.) Hilliard.
Alice worked as a member of Mercy Hospital kitchen staff. She was also employed by Sure-Line Screw Corporation. Alice was a member of Corinthians Baptist Church.
Alice leaves to cherish her memory: 11 grandchildren, Dia (Steve) Gerrald, Dana (Cory) Coleman, Tiffany Grissom, Aaron E. Hilliard, Michael C. Grissom, Camden Grissom, Ryleigh Causey, Rance McCoy Jr., Gloria Hathorn, Leondra Fair, and Portia Fair; three great-grandchildren, Demari Grissom-Chatman, Demont Grissom-Chatman, and Ivy Coleman; two sisters, Velma Guy and Belinda Watson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert H. Grissom Sr.; parents, Webster and Odessa Watson; three brothers, George, Ledell and Robert Watson; sister, Darlene “Doll” Sanders; two nephews, James D. Sanders Jr. and Lawrence Watson; and two nieces, Paula Watson and Velynn (Renee) Sanders.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Corinthians Baptist Church, 2027 Peck St., Muskegon Heights, MI 49444 with visitation one-hour prior at church. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S.
