Mrs. Alice Ann Lakatos' Obituary
Mrs. Alice Ann Lakatos, age 79, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on July 20, 1933 to Henry and Minnie (Cincush) Steenhagen and was a life resident of the area. Mrs. Lakatos retired from the Muskegon County Treasurer’s Office in 1996 after serving 20 years as clerk. She was a member of Olivet Reformed Church. Mrs. Lakatos loved traveling, getting together monthly with her high school friends, and especially the time spent with her entire family at the cottages they rented each year at Bear Lake. On October 10, 1959, Alice married Joseph Francis Lakatos in Muskegon and he survives her along with 3 children, Dr. Monica (Steve Preston) Lakatos, Dennis (Michelle) Lakatos, and Julius (Renée Seely) Lakatos; 7 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Donald Steenhagen, Kenneth (Lynn) Steenhagen, and Robert (Margaret) Mowers; and 2 sisters, Barbara (Frank) Smith and Patricia (Fred) Powlenko. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Martha Steenhagen; and her brother, William Steenhagen. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 20, 2013 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Rev. Jim VanderMeiden officiating. VISITATION will be from 5-8 PM Friday and 1 hour prior to her service Saturday. Burial will be in Fruitport Cemetery. MEMORIALS to Olivet Reformed Church Children’s Ministries would be appreciated.
