Alice Joanna LeMieux's Obituary
Alice Joanna LeMieux, age 87, passed away January 16, 2026, in Muskegon, MI. She was born April 21, 1938, to John and Josephine (Drake) Howell in Muskegon, MI. Alice grew up in Muskegon and was a graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central. After graduation, Alice worked a couple different jobs before her career with Meijer as a cashier for 32 years.
On November 7, 1959, Alice married the love of her life, Robert LeMieux and spent 18 years together before his passing. Alice took great pride in taking care of the house and yard that her and Bob built. Her yard was the envy of everyone in the neighborhood. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and could easily get lost in the comfort of reading a good book. What Alice cherished most was her family. Alice was a member of a local garden club and a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Muskegon, MI.
She is survived by her two daughters, Julie LeMieux and Sue (Don) Roth; one daughter-in-law, Lori LeMieux; three granddaughters, Ashlie (Andrew) Szatkowski, Stacey (David) Abdelkader, and Stefanie (Jon) Ackley; eight great grandchildren, Rilynn, Eliana, and Calder Szatkowski, Mason, Kadin, and Layla Abdelkader, Miles and Jensen Ackley; sister Patricia Brower and brother Jack (Toni) Howell and her beloved cousin, Francine (Dick) Heisser. She was preceded by her husband, Robert; son, Douglas and parents.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 30, 2026, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, with a Visitation held one hour prior. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at https://www.sytsemafh.com.
