Alice Ann Mayer's Obituary
Mrs. Alice Ann Mayer, age 77, of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020. She was born September 17, 1942 in Grand Haven to Edward and Leona (Wassink) Volovlek. In 1966 she married Martin Mayer and he preceded her in death in 2005.
Alice was a member of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, going to the movies, playing cards, watching the Tigers and the Spartans and spending time with her family.
Alice and Marty were never blessed with children but they took great pride and enjoyment from their nieces, nephew and godchildren.
A special thanks to the Mayer family, who took Alice and made her one of their own, with their caring and love. We also want to thank Susan Booker and Christian Haven for the tremendous care provided to Alice.
She is survived by her sister, Rosemary (Jack) Folk of Palm Harbor, FL, her brothers Edward J (Bonnie) Volovlek of Naples, FL and Robert (Dennise) Volovlek of West Olive and many nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID virus, a celebration of Alice’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Alice may be given to St. Patrick – St. Anthony Catholic Church. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
