Alice L. Purchase's Obituary
Mrs. Alice Louise Purchase, 94, passed away peacefully Friday morning, September 15, 2023. She was born December 16, 1928, to Joseph and Gertrude (Shubrick) St. Charles in Charlevoix before moving to the Muskegon area. Alice was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and worked full-time in the jewelry department at Meijer before retiring. On May 8, 1948, she married Victor Purchase who preceded her in death on January 30, 2015. Alice and Victor had six children: Vicki (Russ) Reed, Kathy (Scott) Secrest, David (Kari) Purchase, Mike (Cherie) Purchase, Suanne Vokal, Joe (Sally) Purchase; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Margaret Miller and Betty Moyer. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, September 21, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Marian Chapel, with the Rev. Fr. Steven Geerling presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass, with the Rosary being prayed at 9:30 AM. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Alice may be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441.
