Alice Jean Teuling's Obituary
Mrs. Alice Jean Teuling, age 87, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at The Poppen Residence. She was born on February 7, 1933 to James and Angeline (Oostmeyer) Prow in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, Alice married Job Teuling on March 24, 1950 and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2019. Alice was a Secretary for Oakridge Public Schools for 25 years prior to retirement in 1994. She was a part of a local Canasta Club and Ceramics Group for many years, as well as a longtime member of Fellowship Reformed Church. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, gardening, traveling, and going to yard sales. Alice liked to collect and make dolls and also work on miniature doll houses and other crafts. She loved every minute she was able to spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alice is survived by her children, Cheryl (Daniel) Postema, Michael (Cindy) Teuling and Douglas (Debra) Teuling; 7 grandchildren, Michael (Laura) Postema, Timothy (Kelli) Postema, Jennifer (Joseph) Thompson, Catherine (Joshua) Emery, Todd Teuling, Matthew Teuling, and Maaike Teuling; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Roger (Marva) Prow; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband of 69 years, Job, Alice was preceded in death by her daughter, Joni Teuling; sister, Delores “Dode” McLaughlin, parents, and step- father, Clare Reed. A Memorial Service will be held 11AM Saturday, September 12 at Fellowship Reformed Church (4200 Apple Ave, 49442) with the visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM. Memorial contributions in Alice’s name may be directed to Muskegon Rescue Mission or Harbor Hospice Foundation. Arrangements by The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E.
