Alice Marie Vander Velde's Obituary
Alice Marie Vander Velde, age 96, went to meet her Savior peacefully on Thursday October 16, 2014. Alice was born on July 6, 1918 to Enno and Margret Bytwerk. In 1940 she married Dewey Vander Velde and together they were blessed with 5 children. Alice was a member of Evanston Avenue Baptist Church. She loved teaching children of Jesus love which included Sunday School, VBS, and Child Evangelism Fellowship Clubs. Alice and Dewey had a ministry with young people in their home for many years. She also enjoyed camping and being with her family. She loved playing games and doing crafts with her children and grand children and anyone who would play with her. Alice was a loving, giving, and helpful woman of God who will be deeply missed. Alice is SURVIVED by her 5 children, Ronald (Dorothy) Vander Velde, Beverly (Richard) Doddington, Beatrice Ogrady, Bonnie (Lowel) Beerman, and Beth Ann Vander Velde; 15 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren; sister Beatrice Smith; and brother Ralph (Merla) Bytwerk. She was proceeded in death by her husband Dewey; parents; sisters Louise Hutchins, Anna Ruggeri, Grace Urcavich, Joane Buckner and Sena Sayers; and brother Gerrit Bytwerk. Interment will take place privately next to her husband at Fort Custer National Cementry. Memorial gifts to Child Evangelism Fellowship Muskegon in Alice’s name would be greatly appreciated.
