Mrs. Alice C. Walters' Obituary
Mrs. Alice Christena Walters, age 69, passed away August 11, 2012 in Muskegon. She was born January 7, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and lived most of her life in Muskegon. Her parents were Johntaum “Jack” and Olive Mae “Sandy” (Pearson) Dickson. On November 10, 1960 she married Dale Russell Walters in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2011. “Sweet Alice” was a pre-school teacher as well as a Muskegon Community College instructor. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served throughout her life. She especially loved serving in the Primary. Alice enjoyed playing the piano, singing, and baton twirling. She was a champion twirler in Texas and New Mexico. Alice’s greatest enjoyment in life was her grandchildren and watching them participate in sporting events. SURVIVORS include her son, Mark (Kathy) Walters; 3 grandchildren, Ashley (Chris)Jensen, Eric (Kristen) Walters, and Alex Walters; 1 great-grandchild, Sydney Alice Jensen; and 1 sister, Norma (Glenn) Travis. THE FUNERAL SERVICE will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (1725 W. Giles Rd.) with Bishop David Thornock officiating. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery.
