Alice F. Wildt's Obituary
Alice Florence Wildt, age 98, passed away in Muskegon, MI, on Sunday, April 23, 2023. She was born in Le Roy, MI, on December 17, 1924, to Charles and Florence (Miller) Maitland. On December 13, 1947, she married Elwin Wildt, and they spent 55 years together before he preceded her in death in 2003. Alice spent most of her life as a homemaker, but also worked some years as a machinist at Continental Aviation, as a cosmetologist, and producing and selling bean bag furniture with her sister Virginia. Alice enjoyed gardening and fishing, playing cribbage and card games, and spending time with family. She was a hard worker and a great cook. Alice will be lovingly remembered by her two children: Cheryl (Mark) Cribbs and Timothy Wildt; seven grandchildren: Natalie, Sarah, Alicia, Jaime, Andy, Paige, and Sagan; many great-grandchildren; two siblings: Ted and Elaine; and many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Florence Maitland; husband, Elwin Wildt; and the rest of her siblings. Per her wishes, no public services are being held for Alice.
“Now there she sits, a lifetime of day to day, a household, the dishes, serving up comfort and never to quit. Mother and wife, sister and friend, devoted to life in her own quiet way. Provides a meal with no notice, she's steady as any and never to fuss. Outside the window people drive by, unnoticed by all in this day and age. Some might look at her and not see much, modest and simple it is her way, I always loved mom's gentle touch. The body it aches and pains, not a word is said, and only if asked again and again. She's the one I admire, wish I lived so right, she keeps on going even when tired. How she does it and did it I desire to know, she's the kind of person that deserves a tomorrow.”
