Alice May Workman's Obituary
Alice May Workman passed away April 23, 2021. She was born on July 21, 1935 in St. Johns, MI to Arthur Atkinson and Pearl (Sperry) Atkinson. Alice married Lonnie Workman on August 19, 1980 and they spent 36 wonderful years before his passing on February 2, 2017. She retired from Michigan Spring Company in 1997 after 29 years. She enjoyed gardening and preserving delicious pickles. Alice spent many years weaving beautiful baskets with her husband Lonnie. Together, they traveled to art fairs throughout West Michigan. At the age of 70, she was able to see the love of her life ALAN JACKSON, in concert! She is survived by 5 children: Pamela (Ronald) Duff, Michael (Leisa) Galbreath, Michael (Dianna) Workman, Lonna (Edward) Luzadder, Scott Workman, and Rodney Workman; 9 grandchildren: Lori, Andrea, Erin, Amy, Lonnie, Michael, Chad, Briana, Brody; 12 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; 2 sisters: Martha Adams and Jackie Pereti; and her dog Gracie. She is preceded in death by 2 infant children: Connie and Tommie Galbreath; her sister: Helen Tedder; and her parents: Pearl and Marion Blow. There will be no formal funeral service. Alice will be laid to rest in Lakeside Cemetery next to Lonnie. Memorial contributions in Alice’s name can be made out to Helen Devos Children’s Hospital.
