Alice B. Walter's Obituary
Mrs. Alice B. Walter, age 89, went to be with her Lord Thursday afternoon, November 20, 2003, in North Muskegon. She was born September 22, 1914, in Karlin, MI, to Joseph & Marie (Riha) Sika and then in 1956 moved from the White Lake area to Muskegon, where she has since resided. Alice had been employed as the Activities Director at Knollview Manor from 1967 to 1975, prior to her retirement. Alice was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of its Priscilla Guild. On April 4, 1941 she married Paul Joseph Walter and he preceded her in death in 1987. Her sister, Elsie Vaneps and brother, Joseph “Buddy” Sika, also preceded her in death. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Paula Jean Snyder of Norton Shores, Deborah (Russ) Vlasma of Muskegon, Julie (William) Erickson of North Muskegon and Frederick (Patti L.) Walter of Nunica; 3 grandchildren, Cameron (Melisa) Vlasma, Julie Ann (Brad) Jones and Gabe Vlasma; 2 great-grandchildren, Megan and Austin Jones; 1 sister, Lillian Simonson of Montague and 1 sister-in-law, Jean Bulson of Holton. A SERVICE and CELEBRATION OF ALICE’S LIFE will be held 11:00 AM Monday at First Ev. Lutheran Church (1206 Whitehall Rd.) with Pastor Bill Uetricht officiating. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery, Newaygo County, MI. VISITATION will be 4-7PM Sunday at
