Alice "Loretta" (Schultz) Detamore's Obituary
Mrs. Alice “Loretta” (Schultz) Detamore, age 86, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Brookhaven Medical Care Facility. She was born September 14, 1923 in Sheboygan, WI, and lived in the Muskegon area since 1943. On July 19, 1947, she married William “Bill” H. Detamore in Muskegon and he survives her. Loretta had worked at Sealed Power Corp., Kaydon Corp. and Consumer’s Energy for a time before raising her family and later worked 14 years in the infant/children’s department of Sears, retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church where she was involved with the Rosary and Altar Societies and the prayerline. She also taught catechism classes at St. Thomas for 20 years. She was an active and devoted member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #599 and was past state regent. She was past president of Morality in Media, past president of Right to Life of Muskegon County and was active with VFW #446 Women’s Auxiliary. SURVIVORS include her husband, Bill; 6 children, Diane Janusch of South Haven, Thomas W. (Melva) Detamore of Muskegon, Michael J. Detamore of Florida, Richard J. (Michele) Detamore of Muskegon, David P. Detamore of Muskegon, Mary (Raul) Saldana of Muskegon; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers-in-law, Robert (Shirley) Detamore of Muskegon, Gerald (Paula) Detamore of Brazil, IN; 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Jo (Bud) Grimm of Twin Lake, Elaine (Gary) Stromp of Muskegon; and very dear friend, Leticia Panozzo of Iron River, MI. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, October 19, 2009 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas J. Brown as celebrant. ENTOMBMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Mausoleum. VISITATION with Loretta’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S.
