Alice M. McIlrath's Obituary
Mrs. Alice M. McIlrath, age 88, died Thursday, September 23, 2004 in Muskegon. She was born on April 2, 1916 to Charles & Cecile (Simpson) Moreen and had resided in the area most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husbands Ernest Taylor in 1963, and Charles McIlrath in 1980. Mrs. McIlrath was a member of the Woman of the Moose, and loved gardening with flowers, playing with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and telling jokes and stories to everyone she encountered. SURVIVORS include 1 daughter, Vivian (Marvin) Nelund of Muskegon; daughter-in-law, Patricia Taylor of Vermont; 6 grandchildren, Kevin (Tammy) Nelund, Kimber (John) Stewart, Gary (Angie) Nelund, Tami (Bill) Munford, Tim Taylor, Scott (Mindy) Taylor; 7 great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Alicia, Stephanie, Logan, Harrison, Nicole, Maci; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Towns. Mrs. McIlrath was also preceded in death by 1 son, Thomas Taylor, 1 grandson, Thomas Taylor; 5 brothers, Verl Moreen, Lynn Moreen, Arbor Moreen, Lavon Moreen, Jesse Towns; 3 sisters, Thressa Radtke, Vivian Marcellus, and Velma Miney. SERVICES will be 1 PM Saturday at Lake Harbor United Methodist Church with Pastor Kristin Aardema Faigh officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Friday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan and Lake Harbor United Methodist Church will be appreciated.
