Mrs. Alida Hower's Obituary
Mrs. Alida Hower, 92, passed into the arms of Jesus Thursday morning, March 13, 2014. Born July 31, 1921, she was a life resident of Muskegon. The former Alida Koster married LeRoy Hower on April 23, 1945 in Muskegon, and he died December 5, 1993. Alida had been employed as a clerk at Bignal Dental Supply before retiring in 1981, and had been a lifetime member of First Christian Reformed Church and its Ladies Aide Society, and had been active in TOPS for many years. HER SURVIVORS include her children: Robert (Sandra) Hower of Hudsonville, Ronald (Julie) Hower of Muskegon, Russell (Mickey) Hower of Jenison, Ruth (Steven) Boomer of Muskegon, and Ronda (Brian) Bonebrake of Whitehall; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gertrude Iverson of Port Charlotte, FL. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. She will be remembered for her baking, knitting, card playing and socializing. Alida loved her God and lived her faith. THE FUNERAL SERVICE for Alida will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at Fruitland Evangelical Covenant Church (4283 N. Weber Rd.) with Rev. Ecko DeVries officiating and interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION will be Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442, phone 231-726-5210, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
