Alida A. Wall's Obituary
Alida A. Wall, age 84, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020. She was born May 2, 1935 in Muskegon to William and Clara (Bates) DeJonge. On May 4, 1953, she married Frank J. Wall in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1997. Alida was a bus driver for Oakridge Public Schools for many years until her retirement at age 75. Her family came first, and she loved spending time with them at family gatherings. She enjoyed knitting, watching the Detroit Tigers, and was a huge Oakridge Eagles fan. Alida was the epitome of a lady. SURVIVORS include 3 children: Wendy Sprague of Muskegon, Tom (Connie) Wall of Bridgeton Twp., and Michael (Jeannie) Wall of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Barry (Jan) DeJonge and Michael DeJonge both of Muskegon; 3 sisters: Holly (Bud) Lackey of Spring Lake, Jeyne (Herb) Smith of Grand Rapids, Danya (Henry) Franczek of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews; and a special dear friend, Luella. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Karen (Bob) Fields. A celebration of Alida’s life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 21, 2020 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442 (231) 726-5210 with Pastor Michael Weaver officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Michigan.
