Allan G. Anderson's Obituary
Allan Gerald Anderson, age 91, passed away in Muskegon, MI, on Sunday, January 29, 2023. He was born in Muskegon on February 4, 1931, to his parents Oscar Anderson and Hazel Pringel. Allan worked as a custodian for Oakridge Public Schools for 34 years, retiring at the age of 55. On October 26, 1951, he married the former Nina George, and they spent 71 wonderful years together. Allan loved to spend time outside, whether he was canoeing, camping or hunting in White Cloud, fishing, or snowmobiling. He also enjoyed playing card games and working on puzzles, always hiding the last piece so that he could be the one to finish the puzzle. In his younger years he was a member of the Port City Saddle Club, a group of horseback riders who always put on a lively show. Allan will be lovingly remembered by his six children: Babs (Dale) Murphy, George Anderson, Terry Anderson (Gail Houghteling), Randy (Ilene) Anderson, Scott Anderson (Lisa Holderman), and Sue (Chuck) Kooi; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; all three of his siblings: Jack Anderson, Shirley Wantz, and Barb Cook; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held for Allan from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 2, at Fellowship Reformed Church (4200 Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442).
