Allan James Kramer's Obituary
Allan James Kramer, age 77, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2024. He was born November 8, 1947 in Muskegon to George and Ursula (Loss) Kramer and lived all of his life in the area. He married Margaret A. Baker on October 21, 1967. Al graduated from Grand Valley University with a BS in environmental science in 1974. Al worked 35 years for the Kent County Health Department and retired as the Supervisor of Sanitarians. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Grand Haven. Al was an avid reader and loved spending time at his cabin up north in Rothbury and especially loved spending the winters in Florida. He served his country in the Army and was stationed in Korea from 1967-1969. Survivors include his loving wife, Marge Kramer; 2 children, Kevin (Tina) Kramer, Michele Clark; 2 grandchildren, Jessica (Cadan) Kleinhecksel, Tyler Clark; 1 sister, Linda (Mike) Witham; 1 brother-in-law, James (Teresa) Baker; 3 sisters-in-law, Jean (Jim) Mastee, Cathy Fleissner, and Mary (Jason) Kleinsorge and his many nieces and nephews who were all special to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, David Kramer and his in-laws, Francis and Madeline Baker. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, January 4, 2025 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 920 Fulton Avenue, Grand Haven, MI 49417, with Rev. Fr. Daniel Schumaker presiding. Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Friday, January 3, 2024 at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417 where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 PM. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
