Allen J. Hosko's Obituary
Allen J. Hosko, age 77, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away early Tuesday, November 2, 2021 after courageously battling cancer. He was born on March 6, 1944 to Julius and Leona (Guimond) Hosko in Muskegon, MI. He graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central class of 1962, after graduation he enlisted into the service. Allen was a proud veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He was an entrepreneur and started his own business, AJ Hosko Painting which he founded 43 years ago. On August 29, 1970, he married the love of his life, the former Susan Bodell at the Fruitland Evangelical Covenant Church. Together they cherished 51 years full of love and laughter. Allen was an outdoorsman and truly loved to fish. You could usually find him with his best friend, Max anywhere a fish could be caught! He also enjoyed playing cribbage and pressing his luck with his lotto tickets. Above all things, he truly loved spending time with his family. Allen was a strong-willed man who had an emphasis on living life on his terms. His fiery and determined spirit will truly be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Hosko; 2 children Amy Wilbur and Allen Hosko II; 2 grandchildren, Grace Henry and Kara Wilbur; sister-in-law, Sandy Hosko; and dear friend, Judy Loss. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Julius (Gertrude) Hosko and Vern Hosko; and best friend, Max Loss. A Celebration of Allen’s Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441. A visitation with the family will be held from 10-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions in Allen’s honor can be made directly to the NOAH Project or Harbor Hospice.
