Mr. Allen Gene Schmiedeknecht, age 56, passed away at his home surrounded by family, Tuesday evening, August 11, 2009. Al was born March 15, 1953, to Dale and Bonnie (Reed) Schmiedeknecht in Muskegon. He had been employed at Lift Read Obituary

Even when I(Rosie) went to school with him, he was a nice guy. We were very touched by the services on Saturday. I was especially proud of Jason who gave such a beautiful eulogy and all the family who were so brave to express themselves as they did. We were so suprised to see the passing of Al. Please know that your family is in our thougths and prayers. The last memory I have of Al is when he and Jason did guard duty for a weekend that Becca and I were working. I ended up sitting out there with them most of the night and talking.
