Allen Odell Jager's Obituary
Allen Odell Jager, age 14, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 27, 2009. He was born December 25, 1994 in Fremont, MI to Benjamin and Rachel (McMiller) Jager and lived in the Muskegon area the past 3 years. Allen was in the freshman class at Muskegon High School and was a proud member of JROTC Program. Allen was no ordinary Cadet. He was always motivated and very much dedicated to the program. Allen was a member of the LET 1 Unarmed and Armed Drill Team, Marksmanship Team, and the Color Guard Team as well as the Honor Guard Team. He was on the Academic Bowl Team and Curriculum Knowledge Group for Formal Inspection. Allen had earned the rank of Cadet Master Sergeant and was awarded the following ribbons: LET Service (N-1-6), Personal Appearance (N-3-6), Proficiency (N-3-3), Drill Team (N-3-4), Color Guard (N-3-6), Rifle Team (N-3-7), Commendation (N-3-9), Good Conduct (N-3-10), and the JROTC Athletics Ribbon (N-2-3). He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid sportsman who played football, baseball and recently began wrestling with the school wrestling team. Allen was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed camping and horseback riding with his family. Allen was a member of Family Bible Church in Roosevelt Park. SURVIVORS include his mother, Rachel Garey; his father, Benjamin Jager; his step-father, Chad Garey; his 6 siblings, Ben Jager, John Jager, Kiya Garey, Bradon McMiller, Adam Guisto, and Elizabeth Guisto; maternal grandfather, William O. McMiller; maternal grandmother, Onalee (fiance, Harry Thompson) McMiller; paternal grandfathers, Bud Jager and Tom Marshall; numerous aunts and uncles including William McMiller and Michele Marvin; and 4 cousins, Destiny Kissling, Mikala McMiller, Alexandria McMiller, and Madison McMiller. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Family Bible Church (1256 W. Broadway) with Pastor Jerry DePoy officiating. VISITATION with Allen’s family will be 5-8 PM Friday evening at Family Bible Church. The family has requested financial donations be made to help defray funeral costs. Arrangements handled by
