Allen R. Nieboer's Obituary
Mr. Allen R. Nieboer, age 75, passed away Friday, May 30, 2008, at his home. Mr. Nieboer was born November 3, 1932 to Joseph and Hattie (Ham) Nieboer in Muskegon and has been a life resident of the area. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War and then was employed by Sappi Fine Paper Products until his retirement in 1999. On March 5, 1965, he married the former Barbara Betts. He loved his family and enjoyed watching hockey. Allen is survived by his wife, Barb; sons, Jeff (Staci) Nieboer of Hudsonville and Charles Swift of Florida; daughters, Cheryl (Michael) Day of Grand Rapids, Janice Swift of Muskegon and Vicki (Mark) Schwarz of Golden, CO; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Allen was preceded in death by his parents and 1 grandson, Steven Schmitt. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue 231 726-5210 with Pastor John Rager officiating. Burial will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Monday, June 2, 2008. Memorial contributions may be made to Hackley VNS Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
