Alma Cain-Johnson's Obituary
Mrs. Alma J. Cain-Johnson, age 80, passed away at Lake Woods Nursing Center on Sunday, June 15, 2014. She was born on January 30, 1934 to Edd and Lillie (Gray) Lovett in Hornbeak, TN. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and served time as a deaconess. Prior to retiring in 2007, she was a hairdresser and owned Alma’s Beauty Salon. Alma also helped work elections in Norton Shores and was an instructor at Daniels Hair Styling Academy. She enjoyed and was talented at bowling, crafts, quilting, crocheting and knitting. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Cindy Cain, Barb Durham, Pam (Steven Sherwood) DeWeerdt and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenny; grandson, Richie; parents; 2 brothers, Charles and James Lovett. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Lakeside Baptist Church (2250 Denmark St.) with Pastor Leslie Lew officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 4-7 PM on Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 and one hour prior at church. BURIAL will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Lakeside Baptist Memorial Fund.
